Jay Clayton's 80th Birthday Celebration

Downbeat Magazine says “her musicianship is impeccable.” Clayton has 21 albums out as a leader/co-leader with world-class musicians from Steve Reich to Fred Hersch.  Clayton, who pioneered our Summer Workshop Vocal Program with Sheila Jordan, has chosen the VJC as the site to celebrate her 80th birthday. She will be joined by the Ray Gallon Trio (Ray Gallon (p), Jay Leonhart (b), & Billy Drummond (d)).
