The October Revolution in Jazz: A Story of Musical Triumph

Researching the October Revolution in Jazz has been an incredibly moving journey. Bill Dixon's fight to ensure that this music would be available to people brings an overwhelming sense of gratitude. It’s daunting to consider that without Dixon's extreme measures, we might have missed out on such beautiful and important expressions of sound. From his passion for and the results from, Dixon's quest, aptly named The October Revolution, was akin to a war.  This month, as we focus on The October Revolution in Jazz, we remember Bill Dixon and the many artists who have contributed to this meaningful movement. Their fight continues to inspire and elevate us. Celebrate the 60th anniversary of legacy of The October Revolution in Jazz. The fight goes on! #BAM
